With the Game Developers Conference in full swing, the industry might not have much of a mind to go over February sales figures as reported by the NPD Group. It is significant, however, to note that BioShock 2 only made the top 10 list for Xbox 360 while both console versions of Dante's Inferno were able to secure spots.
Here's the full list:1) BioShock 2 (360) -- 563 thousand sold2) New Super Mario Bros. Wii -- 556 thousand sold3) Modern Warfare 2 (360) -- 314 thousand sold4) Just Dance -- 275 thousand sold5) Wii Sports Resort -- 273 thousand sold6) Modern Warfare 2 (PS3) -- 253 thousand sold7) Mass Effect 2 -- 247 thousand sold8) Dante's Inferno: Divine Edition (PS3) -- 243 thousand sold9) Dante's Inferno (360) -- 225 thousand sold10) Heavy Rain -- 219 thousand sold
Other NPD factoids of note include their statement that the Xbox 360 hit the top spot among home consoles "for the first time since September 2007 when Halo 3 as released." Also, BioShock 2 sold 750 thousand units between 360 and PS3; so with a little math, you know exactly how few people shelled out for the PS3 version.
